"I purchased the book a few weeks ago. My son is 10 years old. Pitching to me was always about throwing strikes. I am new to youth coaching. The 15 zones (1-5 and ABC) really communicate. Now instead of telling our pitchers to pitch low and outside I can say pitch to zone 'C-5.' I also like the suggestions for pitches based on the pitch count. I did not know that the batting average for the first pitch is only .130. The message is to pitch strikes. Now I discuss with my pitchers and catchers what to pitch on which count.
